Is Frank Gehry the Most Iconic Architect of Modern Times?

“A winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize—considered one of the world’s premier architecture awards—Frank Gehry was commended by the jury as, ‘always open to experimentation,’” says a recent story in Dwell on the prolific architect. “He has as well a sureness and maturity that resists, in the same way that Picasso did, being bound either by critical acceptance or his successes.”

Though born in Toronto, Canada, Gehry has made his home here in California. One of the most notable early works was his 1978 renovation of his Santa Monica residence.
While his presence is noteworthy in buildings throughout Los Angeles, his most popular and well-known structure is the Walt Disney Concert Hall, completed in 2003.
