The Tower Bridge Dinner Concludes the Farm-to-Fork Festival
Sacramento’s Tower Bridge will become a giant dining room this Sunday.
Created and executed by Visit Sacramento, the Tower Bridge Dinner serves as the September Farm-to-Fork Celebration’s finale, with hundreds of diners enjoying a locally sourced dinner at one of the region’s best-known landmarks. The dinner is designed to showcase the region’s culinary and agricultural prowess for residents, businesses and potential visitors across the country. The inaugural Tower Bridge Dinner was held in 2013 and led by farm-to-fork pioneers, Chefs Patrick Mulvaney and Randall Selland. Now in its sixth year, this one-of-a-kind dining experience has since evolved to become the Sacramento region’s most anticipated culinary event.
Visit Sacramento is honored to have celebrity Chef Jeremiah Tower as the lead for the 2018 Tower Bridge Dinner. Recognized by Martha Stewart as “a father of American cuisine,” Chef Tower is renowned for leading the kitchen at Alice Waters’ Chez Panisse in Berkeley, where the insistence on fresh and local ingredients quickly gained notoriety. Chef Tower will collaborate with chefs and farmers from the greater Sacramento area to make the 2018 dinner truly unforgettable.
Also this year, renowned floral expert Debi Lilly will be providing one-of-a-kind décor for the event. Through the debi lilly design collection available exclusively at your local Safeway, shoppers can discover inspired floral designs and affordable event décor for every occasion.
Lilly has been featured in The New York Times, Martha Stewart, InStyle Magazine, and appeared for over ten years on The Oprah Winfrey Show as Oprah’s “Favorite Pro.”
In addition to its role as one of the region’s most anticipated food events, the Tower Bridge Dinner serves as a critical fundraiser, with a portion of the proceeds helping to pay for the free Farm-to-Fork Festival on Capitol Mall that attracted more than 65,000 people in 2017. Beginning last year, Visit Sacramento also utilizes a portion of the proceeds to fund the first in a series of scholarships for CAMP students, children of migrant farmworkers, at Sacramento State.
