The sun may be getting brighter and people seem to be emerging from their quarantine cocoons, but we’re still here listening to all the songs that put us right in our feels. For our first Monday Mood of April, we’re highlighting a pair of amazing collaborations, starting with Ashe and FINNEAS’ “Till Forever Falls Apart,” which Ashe describes as a song about how “it’s more important to have had the chance to love than to stay in love.” The 6x Grammy Award-winning FINNEAS—who won Producer of the Year in 2020—seems incapable of writing a bad song. (Just ask his sister.)
The second collab is by EXES, who not only turn out a stellar cover of Dashboard Confessional’s “Don’t Wait” but got Chris Carrabba himself to sing on the track. Next up is another Grammy Award winner, Starrah, with “Distance And Time” off her newly released debut The Longest Interlude. The LP is packed with stellar guests, including production from Nile Rodgers, Skrillex, June Nawakii, James Blake, Bas, Suburban Plaza and Wondagurl. Rounding out the five-pack is “Just So You Know,” a banjo-laced ballad from Vodka Something, also known as Curly Grits to music fans in the South Bay region of SoCal, and a cover of Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You” by Portair. The next Monday Mood will drop on April 19, but if you want to check out additional tracks from our Stay Golden playlist, find us on Spotify and smash that heart button to never miss a track.
