Oakland musician Nimsins was about to give up on his local park in desperate need of renovation. According to SF Gate, Concordia Park had few lights, a missing hoop and badly cracked basketball court. Nimsins put his request out on Twitter and hashtagged the handles of the Golden State Warriors. Then, one of its biggest stars stepped in to save the day.
“Stephen Curry was touring Asia after the end of the season when he noticed the plea. He got in touch with his Under Armour partners and they, along with Chase, went to work funding a renovation of the Concordia Park court.
The cracked court has been replaced with a bright, graphic design with some of Curry’s signature lines like “Ruin the Game”” and “I Can Do All Things,” a reference to the Bible verse he includes on his sneakers.”
You can see the court and Curry showing some of signature moves at the dedication here.
