Run River North Reinvent Their Sound With “Wake Up”

Now a trio, the LA group prep for their second full-length drop later this year.

After starting off their musical trajectory with more of a folk rock feel, LA’s Run River North have dropped one member and fully embraced a pop rock direction—and the results are first-rate. “Wake Up” is a fun-loving, four-minute romp with a choral refrain of “we ain’t got no money but we got lots of time” that imbues it the same infectious vibe of Khalid’s “Young Dumb & Broke.”

The video, directed by Shawheen Keyani, is one part Burning Man, one part circus scavenger hunt, and completely off the wall, showing the band swimming with pineapples and battling army men covered in silver body paint after trekking through the desert in a graffiti-covered Crown Victoria with spinner rims. The song is infinitely catchy, and is the first single from their forthcoming sophomore album, Monsters Coming Home, Vol. 2, which is due to drop later this year.

You can watch the video for “Wake Up” here. If you like what you hear, you should definitely dial up their acoustic cover of The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside” on Spotify.

Cheery Hues and Classic American Style Inspire a Modern Family Home

Pops of bright colors abound with plenty of light and space, while the wide floor plan is reminiscent of East Coast architecture.
