This High-Speed Train Will Take You From California to Las Vegas in About 75 Minutes

It’s the U.S.’s first privately funded passenger rail system in more than 100 years.

Virgin Trains USA, formally known as Brightline, will move forward with plans to connect California with Las Vegas via high-speed train. Construction is expected to begin at the first half of 2020 at a budget of more than $4 billion. The proposed $60 one-way ride will take passengers from Victor Valley in California to Las Vegas in between 75 and 90 minutes.

According to ABC News, representatives say the project will take about three years to complete.

“This is a federally approved rail corridor that we acquired and closed on the acquisition in April of this year,” the representative said. “We are under construction to Orlando at the same time in Florida and that is a 36-month build. We project this to be something similar.”
